SACRAMENT PREPARATION for Reconciliation and Eucharist meets 2-3 times a month on Saturdays from 5:15 - 6:15p.m.. There
are no special sacrament classes. Children preparing for sacraments are strongly encouraged to attend regular Faith Formation classes,
where they learn about their Catholic Faith and build community with their peers. For a schedule for sacrament preparation or other
information, call 689-1054.
INITIATION FOR CHILDREN is for children 7 and older who want Baptism. They will participate in a
process of preparation that leads the child in conversion to Christ and the Church - and to the Initiation sacraments of Baptism and
Eucharist, received during the Easter Season. This process usually takes 1 to 2 years, depending on the child's age and background
in faith formation. Other requiremtns are that the children attend Faith Formation and participate in the Sunday Mass with their familes,
as well.
CONFIRMATION Requirements are: you must be in high school, attend all Youth Night meetings, retreats and
functions. To receive the sacrament of confirmation effectively the youth should have a good basic knowlege of the Catholic Faith;
be participating in the Sunday Eucharist on a regular basis; have a personal prayer life and read the Scriptures often. We have
begun preparation to recieve the Sacrament of Confirmation in 2008. For confirmation preparation call the office at 689-1054.
BAPTISM for
infants and children through 6 years, takes place anytime throughout the Church year except during Lent. The sacrament normally is
celebrated during a Sunday Liturgy. There is a class for parents and godparents. Parents must be registered parishioners and godparents
must be practicing Catholics. For more information call Deacon Darrell Meter at 686-5554.
